In some areas of the US, a curfew is imposed, in which teenagers are not allowed to be out of doors after a particular time at night unless they are accompanied by an adult.
What is your opinion about this?

Imposing curfews on adolescents in certain parts of the United States is commonplace. However, I believe the concept that it is a necessary measure for promoting public safety is misguided as there are also several disadvantages to this policy that make it an inappropriate and unnecessary solution.

One concern I have with imposing curfews is the potential for infringement upon individual freedoms. Teenagers have the right to make their own decisions and should be trusted to make responsible choices, provided they are not endangering themselves or others. Imposing a curfew on them restricts their ability to make their own decisions and may be seen as a lack of trust in their judgment.

Another downside of curfews in my opinion is the difficulty of enforcing them. It may be difficult for authorities to enforce this effectively, particularly if it is unpopular or widely violated. This can lead to unintended consequences, such as an increase in the number of teenagers who engage in risky behaviors in order to avoid being caught. For instance, some youth might walk in narrow alleys between buildings to avoid detection from patrolling police, increasing their risk of being mugged.

Furthermore, I consider there are other measures that can be taken to promote public safety without imposing curfews on teenagers. To elaborate, educating teenagers about the risks of certain behaviors and providing resources and support for those who may be at risk can be more effective than restricting their movements. For example, subsidized taxi shuttle services could operate from popular youth hangouts at night to avoid them wandering home on the streets.

In conclusion, in my view the disadvantages of the policy of restricting adolescents’ movement after dark in various US locations make it inappropriate. These include violation of human rights and enforcement challenges leading to potential further harm to the youth the policy is supposed to protect. I recommend education and protective resources be funded instead.

Many Working People Get Little or No Exercise either During the Working Day or in Their Free Time, and Have Health Problems as a Result.
Why Do Many Working People Not Get Enough Exercise?
What Can Be Done About This Problem?

The issue of lack of exercise among large proportion of employees at or after work can lead to illnesses and other negative consequences. While there are many factors that contribute to this problem, there are also several measures that can be taken to address it.

There are several aspects that contribute to the problem of lack of exercise among workers. One reason is the demands of their job, which may require long hours and be physically demanding, leaving little time or energy for exercise. Another factor is a lack of resources and support, such as restricted access to facilities or equipment for exercise or a lack of backing from employers or the community. If there were no affordable or accessible facilities nearby, workers would find it challenging to exercise sufficiently. These factors make it more difficult for employees to find the time and motivation to engage in physical activity.

Fortunately, there are two key variables that can be taken to address the problem of lack of exercise among working people. The first is for employers to provide resources and support for physical activity, such as on-site gyms or fitness classes. For example, some of the major employers in Silicon Valley such as Apple and Facebook are famed for their well-equipped fitness facilities which allow them to attract and retain healthy and motivated staff. Additionally, individuals can make an effort to incorporate physical activity into their daily routine, such as by taking a walk during lunch breaks or joining a sports team or fitness class in their free time.

In conclusion, the issue of lack of exercise among working people can have negative consequences for their well-being. While exhaustion from working long hours and limited support and opportunities are factors that contribute, there are also several measures that can be taken to address it, including the provision of resources and support from employers and integrating physical activity into regular tasks.

Some People Say It Is Important to Keep Your Home and Your Workplace Tidy, With Everything Organized and in the Correct Place.
What Is Your Opinion About This?

The importance of keeping one’s domestic and professional areas orderly, with everything arranged correctly, is commonly promoted. In my opinion, maintaining tidiness and organization in one’s home and workplace is important for a variety of reasons.

One reason why I consider it is important to ensure one’s home and workplace is tidy is for the sake of productivity and tranquillity. When everything is in its proper place, it is easier to find what one needs and to focus on tasks without distractions. In the working environment, if someone is consistently misplacing things and asking to borrow replacements from others, the workflow of two employees is compromised. Additionally, a tidy space can help to reduce stress, as it can provide a sense of calm and control. For example, I find it much easier to sleep knowing that all the dishes are washed and put away, so my output the following day will be optimised.

Another explanation for why tidiness and organization are important in my view is for the sake of safety. A cluttered space can be hazardous, as it can increase the risk of falls or other accidents. An excellent illustration of this was a confronting advertisement on New Zealand television which showed a mother tripping over some toys on the floor, and suffering severe injuries from a glass coffee table. Furthermore, a cluttered space can harbor pests or other health hazards, such as mold or bacteria. By maintaining a clean and organized space, individuals can reduce these risks and ensure that their home and workplace are safe and healthy.

In conclusion, I believe that it is important to keep one’s home and workplace tidy and organized. Not only does this promote efficiency and composure, but it also ensures the safety and health of the space and its inhabitants. By taking the time to maintain tidiness and organization, individuals can create a more pleasant and functional environment.

Some People Say That Now We Can See Films on Our Phones or Tablets There Is No Need to Go to the Cinema. Others Say That to Be Fully Enjoyed, Films Need to Be Seen in a Cinema.
Discuss Both These Views and Give Your Opinion.

Some argue that portable devices have made theatres redundant, while others claim that films need to be seen in a cinema in order to be fully appreciated. Both sides of the argument will first be elaborated, before explaining why, ultimately, I side with the latter.

One view is that films can be fully enjoyed on small screens, such as phones or tablets. The main reason for this is the convenience. With the proliferation of streaming services, it is easier than ever to access films on small screens, and individuals can watch them wherever and whenever they like. For example, someone could log into Netflix on their phone and watch a latest release during their daily commute by train. Additionally, small screens may provide a more intimate viewing experience, as individuals can watch films in their own space and at their own pace.

However, there are also several reasons why opponents believe films may need to be seen in a cinema in order to be fully enjoyed. One is the enhanced visual and audio experience that a theatre can provide. With larger screens and better sound systems, motion pictures can be more immersive and impactful in a cinema setting. Many cinema complexes now offer even 4D options which have moving seats to make the viewer feel like they are part of the action.  Furthermore, the social aspect of watching films in a cinema can be a key part of the enjoyment, as individuals can share the experience with others and engage in discussions about the film afterwards.

In conclusion, although both arguments are logical, in my view, the enhanced visual and audio experience, as well as the social aspect, can be key to fully appreciating a film. I believe that with excessive media options available on mobile devices, recapturing the romance of a trip to the theatre with loved ones should be cherished.
