Model Answer:
Some people believe that eating home-cooked food is more beneficial for people in general and also for families. I somewhat agree with this because it is healthier and less expensive; however, eating out on occasion can be a good family experience.

The main reason I agree is that cooking and eating at home gives people control over the ingredients they use to make the food. People can ensure they use fresh and healthy ingredients to maintain a better diet and focus on their health. As well as this they can avoid the additives restaurants often add to their food such as monosodium glutamate.

Additionally, it is generally less expensive to eat home-cooked meals as restaurants need to not only cover their expenses such as staff wages, but also charge premiums for signatory dishes or ambience. This is a great benefit to family budgets, and families can reduce their expenses by eating at home.

On the other hand, a family making a trip to a restaurant can be a good family-bonding experience. It can help the family to enjoy the ambience and food, without any family member having to go through the entire cooking and cleaning process. Furthermore, due to the busy lives families have, it can sometimes be helpful for everyone to enjoy a meal that someone else prepared, giving the entire family an excuse to sit down and make time for each other.

In conclusion, I somewhat believe that eating at home is better because eating home-made food is beneficial to the health of people and it reduces the expenses of families. However, occasional meals at restaurants allow an individual or a family to take a break and to socialise. [281 words]

  1. Q:Many people say that cooking and eating at home is better for the individual and the family than eating out in restaurants.
    Do you agree or disagree?

Many advocate that it is beneficial for a person and his or her family to cook and eat at home rather than going out to restaurants for this purpose. In my opinion, this is the right way of leading a fit and productive lifestyle.

Although cooking might seem to be a tedious task, one should consider the benefits it provides. As it is said, we are what we eat. In other words, our health and body do rely on the food choices we make. So cooking at home is the best way to ensure that we are eating the right ingredients and in the appropriate quantity. Because an excess of salt and sugar content, which is quite common in outside eateries, can be detrimental to one’s health. To quote an example, my kids loved McDonald’s chips, but I learned to make a similar kind at home after knowing the tremendous amount of salt used in their kitchen.

Concerning eating, firstly, I think one cannot find a better and peaceful place to eat other than his home. As public places are usually very crowded and full of noise pollution. While occasional dine-outs can give a break to the person cooking and a change of environment is good for our monotonous routines, however, the home should be the top priority for our daily food intake. Secondly, eating at home not only strengthen one’s family bond but also gives a chance, as their children’s role model, to inculcate this essential habit in them. For instance, my father always taught us that all family members should eat the meal together at the dining table; it brings joy and blessings.

In conclusion, I am totally against the trend of eating outside in restaurants because of health issues and it seems to intrude one’s privacy. Home is the best and healthy option for making and eating your food as it keeps the family healthy and together.
