you work at home and have a problem with a piece of equipment that you use for your job.
Write a letter to the shop or company which supplied the equipment..
In your letter
• describe the problem with the equipment
• explain how this problem is affecting your work
• say what you want to shop or company to do

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to bring to your attention a problem that I am currently experiencing with a laptop that I purchased from your store. The laptop in question is a Toshiba Satellite Pro.

The problem is that the Windows operating system shuts down for no reason, often several times a day. There is no advanced warning, and it takes around five minutes for the system to reboot.

As a result, this issue is preventing me from being able to fully utilize the laptop for my work as I am required to participate in Zoom meetings, which I lose access to when the shutdowns occur.

I would like the shop or company to take responsibility for this problem and either repair or replace it as I purchased this laptop with the expectation that it would function as advertised.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully,
Mark Whiteman

During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talk to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants. Write a letter to this businessman. In your letter
• remind him when and where you met
• tell him what kind of job you’re interested in
• say why you think you would be suitable for the job

Dear Mr. Davidson,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to follow up on the conversation we had during our recent plane journey.

I was seated next to you on Flight number AA777 on January 10th, and we had a chance to discuss your chain of restaurants. You had suggested that I should contact you about a potential role in one of your establishments.

I am writing to express my interest in the role of a Sous chef within your organization. Furthermore. I am particularly keen on the branch in Dubai, as that is where I am currently based.

I believe that my skills and experience make me a suitable candidate. I have more than 5 years of experience as a chef in different restaurants, with a strong background in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Moreover, I am knowledgeable in kitchen management and have experience in creating new menus and dishes as well as familiarity with food safety regulations.

I would like to thank you for your time and consideration, and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours sincerely,

a large company in your area has decided to spend a certain amount of money, either to sponsor a local children’s sports team for two years, or to pay for two open air concerts. It has asked for feedback from the general public.
Write a letter to the company. In your letter
• describe the benefits of sponsoring the sports team
• summarise the benefits of paying for the concerts
• say how you think the company should spend the money

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to express my opinion on the upcoming decision that your company has to make to allocate sponsorship to children’s sport or community concerts.|

In terms of the first option, sponsoring a local children’s sports team would not only provide them financial support, but it would also give youngsters in the community an opportunity to participate in organized sports. This would help them to develop physically and mentally, and also teach them the importance of teamwork and discipline.

However, paying for the concerts would provide a unique form of entertainment for a wider audience. There is a dearth of free options in the community for entertainment and bringing everyone together would create better bonds among all cultures and generations.
In my view, while the concerts would be enjoyable for some, they would not have the same long-term benefits for the community as sponsoring the sports team. Based on this, I think the company should allocate the money to sponsor the local children’s sports team for two years.

Thank you for considering my opinion.

Yours faithfully,
Gary Smith

There have been several complaints about the reception area where visitors in your company arrive. Your manager has asked you to suggest how the reception area could be improved.
Write a letter to your manager. In your letter
• describe the complaints that have been made
• say why the reception area is important
• suggest how the reception area could be improved

Dear Mr. Brown,

I am writing to you in regard to the recent criticisms about the visitor reception area.

The complaints mostly center around poor lighting, outdated furniture, and a lack of cleanliness. Additionally, some visitors have reported difficulty in finding their way around the area and have expressed dissatisfaction with the overall appearance of the space.

It is vital that the reception area makes a positive impression as it is the first point of contact for visitors in our company. A well-designed and maintained reception area can create a welcoming atmosphere and convey a sense of professionalism.

Given these concerns, I would like to suggest some enhancements to the reception area. One solution could be to update the lighting and furniture, to create a more modern and inviting atmosphere. Additionally, regular cleaning and maintenance could help to ensure that the area is always presented in the best possible condition. The wayfinding could be improved by adding signage to make it clearer for first time visitors.

I would be happy to discuss these suggestions further and to work with you to implement them.

Yours sincerely,
Garrett Keller

  1. I am writing to you according to the visitors receipton at our area
Many of our clients are complaining about the shortage of benches, There is only one four seater bench at our receipton which is no enough to our clients.
On the other hand, we do not have a waiting shed for our visitors and most of our clients may decide to go home because there no enough shed for relaxing .
Finally, l would like the receiption is very important, we must put a sign post at the reception to trap our clients and to build a comfortable shed at the reception and also many benches.
I think you will consider my request
    Yours sincerely
